The dark side of the force

Hephaestus in greek mythology, Vulcan in roman mythology, is the god of fire, of forges, of engineering, of sculpture and of metalworking. He had to go a long way to be accepted from other deities. 

Homer tells of how Hephaestus was ugly and ill-tempered, but with a great strength in his arms and shoulder muscles, so everything he did was of impeccable perfection. His great forge was to be found in the bowels of Mount Etna, he worked with cyclops, where the blows of their anvils and their panting made volcanoes grumble.
